Miboro Dam

A gigantic dam stands 131 meters in height and 405 meters in width.
It is Japan's first and largest dam built with the "rock-fill technology" using only stones and clay .
You can see how the dam was built, and you can also enjoy the four seasons in Shirakawa Village.


Tohyama House Folklore Museum(an important cultural asset)

A five-story wooden house built in Gassho-zukuri style in which a large family lived in the past.
A lot of materials on the life style in Shirakawa-go are on display here.


Ohshirakawa(Hakusan National Park)

The wonderful waterfall, "Hakusui-No-Taki Waterfall", open-air baths (hot spring), and camping sites are really nice to enjoy, but they are closed in winter.
The view of emerald green Hakusui-ko Lake is really fantastic.

This hot spring along a mountain stream is full of seasonal enjoyment.
Warmhearted and cordial reception is the boast of this place.

You can also use the hot-spring pool (Kur Haus), tennis court,and Shirayumi Ski ground.


House of Doburoku Matsuri Festival

You can see a doll exhibition depicting Doburoku Matsuri Festival .
A lot of precious materials and relics are preserved and exhibited here.

Myozenji Temple Museum(Prefectural important cultural assets)

The Shoro-mon gate was erected in Tendai Sect style. The "Kuri" or the living quarters of the temple was constructed about 230 years ago and is unique because of its thatched roof.
A lot of important materials are on display and preserved inside.


Gassho-zukuri Folklore Park (Open-air Museum)

This open-air museum includes many Gassho-zukuri houses transferred from Shirakawa Village and restored here.
You can enjoy the life which the people used to spend a long time ago.
"Soba-dojyo" is near here ,where you can also experience making Soba (buckwheat noodles).

Ogimachi Gassho Shuraku

The many traditional Gassho Style houses have been designated as World Heritage.
he scene of 112 houses with thatched roofs in Gassho style remind us of ancient Japan.
Ogimachi-Jyoshi (the observation platform) commands a wonderful panorama of this village.


白山スーパー林道Hakusan Super Highway

Hakusan Super Highway is a 33.3 km-long driving course from Shirakawa-go to Kaga Hot Spring District. You can enjoy the wonderful nature and the seasonal view.
Open:from 5th June to 10th November(closed in winter)
